Since 1961 the Barberani family have followed the ancient rite of the harvest, with skilled hands, turning the grapes into a symphony of aromas and flavors, in total respect for the land and tradition.

It is a passion that has its roots in the past and through love and devotion have been passed down from generation to generation It is the future of the Umbrian agriculture, a timeless journey.

n gray and gloomy autumn nights, an impalpable and mystical fog envelops the vineyards on the hills of Lake Corbara well after the rising of the sun. Only then the cool morning winds dry the mist from the bunches so they can enjoy the beneficial afternoon sun, proudly resting on the branches.

From this climate swing is rot made noble, enveloping berries in an embrace that dries them and concentrates the best qualities. It gives a valuable identity to this intoxicating wine, rare and unmistakable.

Only the grapes caressed by the magic of Botrytis are chosen by the expert and devoted hands of those who know the art of the late harvest. Hands which can recognize the perfect berries and leave the not yet ripe ones on the plant.

Through absolute care and attention to detail comes the magic of a paradigm wine: a wine dense, unctuous, unique and intoxicating.

Barberani has always operated in complete synergy with nature and the land, in a balance that enhances the Genius Loci, the Spirit in which the ancients recognized the character and personality of each location. And it is the soul of Lake Corbara that infuses the wine its unique and generous flavor of mother earth and offers the whole soul and the organoleptic complexity of Umbria to the palate.

The fog yields to the more intense gusts of wind.

From the smallest pebble of the river Tiber to the water that gathers in the lake named Corbara.

All the natural elements are present in this exciting landscape, soft and sensual, moulded by steep hills, telling the poetry of places and making the terroir of the Barberani’s vineyards unique.

The soils of marine origin, clay and limestone, are composed of marl rich in fossils and shells dating from the Eocene period.

It is this the nature which makes them highly suited to quality grape growing.

And it is our work that makes the wine express its unique personality through aromas and sensations that talk to your soul, revealing the secrets of the place where it was born.

The rich ecosystem that surrounds the lake, lifeblood of woods and forests, enhances flavor in grapes, the acidity, the light iodine scents and character typical of the Mediterranean. A character rich in nuances and fascinating contrasts, but determined and strong, like the passion of our family.

Visit the Cellars Barberani. A visit is worth a thousand words.
In Orvieto, a land of traditional hospitality, every visitor is welcome.
We invite you to our estate, to stay at our farm holiday Agriturismo and discover for yourself the beauty and charm of our land.
We can visit the vineyards, cellars and tasting along the whole range of our wines.
Our cellars are open Monday to Friday from 8 to 13 and from 14 to 17.
Our wine shop in Piazza Duomo Orvieto is open daily from 10:00 to 19:00.
